Taylor Swift Breaks Record as First Female Artist to Reach 100 Million Monthly Listeners on Spotify

Taylor Swift has achieved a major milestone by becoming the first female artist on Spotify to reach 100 million monthly listeners. Spotify announced the news on August 29th, terming it as “Queen behavior” and shared the same on their social media pages. This achievement shows that Swift’s music is still in demand and is loved by millions of fans worldwide.

With over 110 million monthly listeners, The Weeknd has secured the top spot on Spotify, setting a new record after crossing the 100 million mark in February. Bad Bunny follows closely behind with 80 million listeners, while Ed Sheeran claims third place with 77 million. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s recent release of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” has already debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200, earning her the title of the first woman to have four albums in the top 10 of the album chart simultaneously, a feat only achieved by two other artists in history.

During the final show of her U.S. Eras Tour at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Taylor Swift excitedly revealed that her project “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” will be released this fall. Fans were not caught off guard by the announcement since the singer had been leaving a series of clues regarding the re-recorded album’s release date, which is set for October 27th. Swift teased her audience by pointing out the new outfits in her performance and highlighting the date – the ninth day of the eighth month.

After spending an embarrassingly long time planning, I have something exciting to share with you all. Instead of just talking about it, I want to show you what I’ve been working on. As I spoke, the new album art for “1989” appeared on the big screen behind me. The Eras Tour is set to continue through the fall of 2024, and I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve added 15 more North American dates to the lineup. Let’s keep the excitement going!
